For as long as I can remember I’ve always wanted an S-Works frame. I love the look of the Specialized Venge, but I found it a little too stiff for the kind of riding I do. Don’t get me wrong, if money and space weren’t an issue there would certainly be one in the collection.
My favourite road bike that I’ve ever ridden has to be the Specialized Tarmac, there is just something about it that I love. Specialized bikes tend to be a bit more expensive than others, but they ride so well that I think it’s worth it.
I wasn’t necessarily looking for a new bike/frame but I was just browsing aimlessly on eBay one evening and spotted this one. An S-Works Tarmac with the Chameleon paint job. It looked good from the pictures and was at a good price. I happened to put a cheeky bid on it, not thinking that I would be getting a notification a few days later saying that I’d won.
When I went to pick it up, it was in great condition. There are a few tiny marks, but nothing major. It’s something that’s to be expected of a second-hand bike. After giving it a thorough clean, including stripping down the headset and re-greasing everything, I was in love with it. It looked even better in the sunlight.
The plan is to move all of the parts from my current Specialized Tarmac to this one and sell my current frame. I did debate upgrading the groupset to Dura-ace but I decided to save some money and stick with the Ultegra. I can’t wait to start building this up!
What’s your dream bike?
Until next time.

Oh, and I almost forgot – I own and ride my dream bike daily. ’13 Specialized Venge. My 5200 is great, but my Venge is special.

Thanks! I can’t wait to get to work on it, ride it and write about it. I love the look of your Venge. I still remember when they first came out, a very striking and special bike!

The affordable dream bike is a Roubaix. The unaffordable, unattainable is the Pinarello Dogma.

Thanks! A Roubaix is lovely. Have you seen the new one that’s just been released? Ooo they are nice. One of my mates would also love a Dogma.
