All you need is a bike. It doesn’t have to be an all singing, all dancing machine. Just something with two wheels and some pedals. It doesn’t have to be the longest ride in the world either. It could just be a ride around the block.
Sometimes those are the best types of rides, quite often I’ll just grab my bike and have a quick blast around where I live. I’m sure the neighbours think I’m a bit strange but it puts a smile on my face.
Even longer rides don’t need much if any planning. Just last weekend I decided to go for a ride, I had no destination, no targeted distance and just hoped it wouldn’t rain.
Each left or right was a new option, I could take either and it wouldn’t matter. Yes, you may need to have some idea as to where you’re going, and it does help if you know the local area but it is also an adventure and good fun to find new routes.
Like I said, it doesn’t matter if the ride is 2 minutes or 2 hours. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a complete novice or a full-on pro. Or if your bike cost £200 or £2000. The best thing to do is just get out and ride.
Let me know your adventures.
Until next time,
Jack

*Sigh*
I’ve always wished I could ride a bike… I’m 27 now and still can’t. Is it too late to learn now… And can I learn alone or I need someone to train me?

It’s never too late to learn. You can do either, I spent a while on a mates bike on my own, determined to learn. Having someone else help you can be a great way to encourage you.

Never, ever too late! My Mum only learned to ride in her 30’s when my sister and I were learning, so she could ride with us around the local park.

I love riding my bicycle in great weathers. Riding alone , too, has its own pleasures.
Nice post.👌

Just don’t forget to let someone know you’re out and about, don’t forget your cellphone, pack and extra tube….basic drill, but worth repeating.
